4th Toastmasters meeting - Friendship

It was the fourth meeting and we weren't less comfortable giving speeches and taking up roles by then. Everyone now waits for the next meeting to come. The spirit to learn is rising really high and the meetings are turning into more funfilled learning hub.

Prawesh Shrestha was the MC for the meeting. He kick started the meeting really well stating the theme for the meeting as friendship. The theme in itself spread a very warm and comforting vibe in the room. Prashant gave the invocation. I took up the grammarian's role yet again in this meeting.

Toastmaster meet - theme: chilly mornings

Nothing can defy and no-one can deny that we have been learning a lot in writing, speaking and listening areas through our toastmasters meeting. The meeting held on 5th January, Thursday taught us valuable lessons.

Diwaker, started the meeting as an MC and came up with apt theme named "Chilly mornings". Bimal gave the invocation reading out beautiful lines from Chanakya's Chant. After which, I as the grammarian gave the word and the phrase of the day.

Bleak: Adjective

First demo Toastmasters meet at YIPL

It isnt easy to get out of ones comfort zone specially when one has to stand front and speak to the audience. But at YIPL, people did not hesitate to push that barrier of comfort zone and dive into the new learning area and speak publicly for the first time in their life.

I was the toastmaster or the MC for the meet. Anjesh brought positive ambience in the meeting with the invocation which said 'If you think you can, you can." Anjan, as the grammarian, presented the word and phrase for the day.

Drupal 7 Release Party - Nepal

Drupal 7 Release Party - Nepal

YIPL has been advocating about Drupal from its very inception. Each new release of Drupal brings new excitement, opportunities and prospect for us. Drupal 7 was finally relased on 5th of January 2011 after a long development time of almost 3 years. This called for a celebration and Drupal Release parties were being held all over the world.  There were over 300 parties planned in over 90 countries, so in the same spirit YIPL took the initiative to host a Drupal 7 release party here in Nepal on January 7th 2011.

Drupal 7 is of great importance because it bring with it a lot of improvements in UI as well as the backend. The whole admin UI has been revamped and completely redesigned which was much overdue. With improvements in performance and addition of many APIs and integration of unit testing, this release will definitely be a favorite for the developers as well. The new release bring with it a pethora of new features which will really help Drupal cement its place as the best CMS...
