THE CHALLENGE
Saarang is a tech-tourism startup with a unique mission: to bring Nepal’s heritage sites to life through storytelling, using QR-enabled boards placed at physical locations. When visitors scan these codes, they are directed to Saarang’s platform to listen to or read rich, contextual stories about the site, bridging tradition and technology. However, the previous website didn’t effectively convey the startup’s core values, lacked visual cohesion, and didn’t offer the emotional or experiential pull needed to connect with culturally curious travelers. The design was not only visually outdated, but also failed to communicate the immersive storytelling experience that sets Saarang apart in the tourism and heritage space.
THE SOLUTION
To better reflect Saarang’s vision and appeal to modern travelers, we redesigned the website with a focus on visual storytelling, clarity, and cultural warmth. Our design process started by aligning the visual language through typography, colors, and imagery along with the brand’s core values of heritage, immersion, and accessibility. We created a clean and emotionally engaging interface that guides users through Saarang’s offerings while evoking the richness of Nepal’s history.
The redesigned website not only improves aesthetics but also enhances usability across devices, especially for travelers accessing stories on-site via QR scans. Each heritage site’s story page was optimized to provide both audio and text content in a seamless, distraction-free layout. The result is a beautiful, user-friendly digital experience that captures the spirit of Saarang’s mission ie. connecting people to place through meaningful, tech-enabled storytelling.
