THE CHALLENGE
As global commitments to aid transparency grew stronger, development organizations faced increasing pressure to publish their aid data in line with the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) Standard. However, the technical complexity of the standard created a significant barrier—especially for small and medium-sized organizations with limited technical capacity.
Many organizations struggled to understand the schema, format their data correctly, and publish it to the IATI Registry. Without an accessible and user-friendly tool, the ambition of making aid data truly open, timely, and comparable was at risk.
THE SOLUTION
To bridge this gap, we developed AidStream—a simple, intuitive, and widely adopted online platform that enables development organizations to easily publish their aid data in accordance with the IATI Standard.
AidStream streamlines the entire data publishing process by providing a user-friendly interface, guided forms, and real-time validations that help users correctly structure and submit their data. The platform also supports automated publishing to the IATI Registry, removing the need for manual technical interventions.
Today, over 1,000 organizations across the globe—from large donors to grassroots NGOs—use AidStream to publish their aid activities, making it a cornerstone of the IATI ecosystem. By lowering technical barriers, AidStream has played a critical role in promoting aid transparency, accountability, and data use within the international development community.
